This article presents a survey of the missionary work from the Russian Empire to North America. Beginning with the 1794 arrival of missionaries in “Russian America”, that is, Alaska, the missionary work began to include the USA (which included Alaska after 1867) and then Canada. This article covers only the first missionary work, and the early diocesan development. It does not consider events beyond the establishment of the Russian Orthodox Greek Catholic Church of North America.
