Archdiocese of Canada Award of Saint Tikhon of Moscow
On 17-18 September, 1999, in Vancouver, British Columbia, the Archdiocesan Award of Saint Tikhon of Moscow was inaugurated.
The occasion for the inauguration was the 75th anniversary of Holy Resurrection Russian Orthodox Sobor in Vancouver, British Columbia.
The award consists of an enamelled medal and a written certificate.
The award was intended to be presented to those who have served the Church (in particular the Archdiocese of Canada) over a long period of time.
Saint Tikhon Award : Saint Tikhon Medal
The award is to be given, keeping in mind the life and example of Saint Tikhon (Belavin) of Moscow, and it is to be given in his honour.
The award and medal were designed by the Archpriest Andrey and Matushka Henriette Somow of Vancouver, British Columbia.
Metropolitan Theodosius (Lazor) was the first recipient of his award.
