The Orthodox Church of Georgia] is one of the oldest Orthodox Christian Churches in the world.
The Apostle Andrew was present in the Colchis region of Georgia during his missionary travels, and Saint Nino of Cappadocia was the first to evangelise the people in a thorough manner. The Church was granted autocephaly by the Patriarch of Antioch in 466.
The Church of Georgia has a bishop in charge of its parishes in North America, and there is at least one parish established in Canada.
